2027 Sea Kayak Pool Program
Build Confidence. Explore Your Limits. Become More Comfortable in Your Kayak.
We’re incredibly fortunate to have access to a large, warm swimming pool during the winter months. Our pool program gives you the opportunity to bring your sea kayak into a controlled, comfortable environment where you can explore, experiment, and develop your skills without the challenges of cold water or changing sea conditions.
The pool is an ideal place to push the boundaries of your stability, develop better control of your kayak, and build confidence in your ability to respond when things don’t go as planned.
Capsizing a sea kayak can create a wide range of physical and emotional responses. For some paddlers, simply being upside down or under the kayak can be challenging. For others, it’s an opportunity to explore what their kayak—and they themselves—are capable of.
Our goal is not simply to teach you how to roll. It’s to help you understand your responses, develop confidence underwater, and build the skills and awareness that allow you to remain calm and make good decisions when your kayak is no longer upright.
Whether you’re working on your first support stroke, becoming more confident with bracing, refining an existing roll, or working toward a reliable roll, the pool provides a safe and supportive environment to learn, experiment, and make progress.
Come join us in the pool and discover more of what is possible in a sea kayak—while becoming more comfortable on, in, and under the water.
