While this region thrives with tourists during the peak of summer\, it transforms into an enchanting haven as the tourist crowds disperse and the weather undergoes its seasonal shift\, making it an ideal destination for our paddling escapades. \nWho is eligible for this program? \nThis weekend is open to participants of all skill levels; however\, it may not be suitable for brand-new paddlers who have not undergone any formal sea kayak training in the past. We are more than willing to have a preliminary conversation with you to determine if the program aligns with your needs and objectives. Rather than trying to fit everything into a single course or a single season\, we work together over time to develop skills\, confidence\, decision-making\, leadership and a deeper understanding of the sea. \nDuring the intake call\, we’ll talk about: \n\nWhat the Long-Term Student Program is—and what it isn’t\nHow the program is structured for the 2027 season\nThe different options available to students\nHow we develop individual goals and personalized learning plans\nThe importance of practice\, repetition and time on the water\nHow coaching and mentorship continue throughout the season\nOpportunities to paddle in Nova Scotia and beyond\nThe community that develops between long-term students\nWhat I expect from students—and what you can expect from me as your coach\n\nWe’ll also talk about your paddling goals for 2027.
