PROGRAM OUTLINE
Surfing a kayak is an enjoyable experience but does require a great deal of control and understanding of waves and how they form. The focus of this program is learning how to safely use your sea kayak in the surf.

Aims of this programs
- Learn how to set up a safe surfing session for friends
- Learn how waves are formed and choosing a good place to surf
- Learn how to launch and land in the surf
- Develop skills to work in the surf environment. Timing, placement and surfing
WHAT 2 EXPECT
During this day long program, we will explore the following themes:
Beach safety
Launching and landing, timing, surfing techniques, reading waves and more.
This program is ideal for anyone wishing to take part in a Paddle Canada Level 2 Skills course
Surfing sessions tend to be higher energy output programs and all students are encouraged to pace themselves and bring plenty of water and quick energy snacks.

Who is participating in this program?
Students should have Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills or equivalent to participate in this program. We are happy to chat with you in advance to sea if the program meets your needs and goals.
Program Venues: Clam Harbour Beach
Equipment Requirements
Students are required to have all their own paddling gear to participate in this program. We do offer equipment rentals for this this program. Dry suits can be rented for $30 per day, sea kayak rentals are $65 per day and includes P&H Sea kayak, Lendal Paddle, skirt, bailer, throw rope and helmet if the program requires it. Equipment rentals should be arranged in advance of the program to ensure availability.
